he arrival of September can mean a lot of things; the children heading back to school, the transition back into shorter days, the arrival of Negroni week (watch this space). But for us at The Oxford Artisan Distillery, the key event that really elicits our excitement is the annual Big Oxford Beer Bash (BOBB).
BOBB is a passion-led, jam-packed one day festival, taking place on September 17th, dedicated to showcasing the very best of what local, independent brewers have to offer. The craft beer is served by the brewers themselves meaning you’re free to pick their brains and learn more about the craft of brewing as they serve you. The event will run from midday until 8pm and tickets are priced at £10. Your ticket will include an exclusive tasting glass as well as access to the food market on site and the opportunity to interact first-hand with local brewing geniuses. Your free glass allows you to be eco-friendly in your beer tasting and use it for all your beer fuelled escapades throughout the day. Each stall in the food market will be spearheaded by various independent local food producers, offering a diverse range of cuisine.
We are proud to be hosting The Big Oxford Beer Bash at our distillery again this year. As an independent company, it is a mission of ours to help support other local businesses and show off Nautilus and Nemo (our handmade, copper-riveted stills). We had a fantastic time hosting last year, entertaining almost 1000 guests and showing off our 18th century threshing-barn.
If you’re wondering (and if you’re anything like us, you must be) the soundtrack to this year’s BOBB will be underscored by Rock of Ages, a skilled Oxfordshire based rock tribute band. They’ll be in the company of several other local bands who will keep up the good vibes with their talent.
